In order to be inspiring, we are generally inspired. Well, this morning as I was reading my daily devotionals, I fell in love with the article! Why? Because it makes sense!
In short, the article was explaining how we manifest our thoughts. The power of the statement 'I am' is so profound in the kind of life we live. The 'I am's' that come into our thoughts and out of our mouths will determine success or failure. A lot of the time, we use the power of 'I am' against us without even realising it. The principle explained was as follows: What follows the 'I am' will always come looking for you. However, we get to choose our 'I am's'. If you say 'I am blessed', blessings will come looking for you. 'If we say, 'I am talented' talent comes looking for you. If we say, 'I am strong', strength starts tracking you down.
Equally, if you say 'I am not good enough', people or situations that are not good enough for you will present themselves. If you say 'I am unattractive' you will be attracted to unattractive things or things that are not good for you and so on.
I'll be the first to admit that I used to be quite a negative person and my life was completely different 10 years ago to how it is today. The reason is because I count my blessings on a daily basis, even when I'm having a bad day. I do not let negativity destroy my peace; whereas in years gone by I would give up easily and allow myself to wallow in self pity and negativity. This manifested a downward spiral and more often than not, it would lead to depression.
I truly believe that I am talented, strong, creative, confident and dare I say it; beautiful inside and out! Yes, I'm no longer afraid to say I'm beautiful even with my little bit of extra weight or a spot that popped up yesterday. I've been told that I glow and that's what makes us beautiful. People don't notice the menial things I used to worry about, they just notice how I have changed. If they do notice those menial things, then that's OK. Because most importantly, these days I don't care what people think anymore! I am focused, determined and eager to change my life for the better and the only person who can do that is me!
What will you choose in your life? Success or failure?
